How Much Hosting Do You Need?

When shopping for web hosting people get in awe of how much space and bandwidth is available for rather cheap prices. This can confuse many because they are not sure how much they actually need for their use.
Let me help you out when looking into how much space you actually need. No longer will you get tied into a package that is more than you need.
First up is how big is your web site going to be. It will amaze you on how small your first site actually is. Many people get caught up in the graphics and video you think is best for your site. But be realistic in web hosting first making those are harder than you can imagine and second you don’t want to make your website so big it is hard for people to download. Many people are still not on fast access internet and you do not want to make your site take forever to load. Your website at biggest will probably be under 500k. This can be mean as little as 10 megs will be enough for you.
Now think of how many visitors you are going to get. Most people would love a 1,000 people a month at first. This is extremely difficult but obtainable by people that are good in the field. After that you can just take your site size and use a 1,000 as your guideline and you can figure out the bandwidth you need.
For most it is less than they thought. You do not need to purchase larger packages when starting off. Purchase enough to get started and to have some expansion and then upgrade your web hosting when the time is right.
